Dawn Whitelaw taught painting for nearly thirty years at David Lipscomb University in Tennessee. She meets regularly with a group of artists who prefer to paint en plein air and she often travels to locations around the United States and abroad to paint. She is admired for her facility with landscape and is known as an accomplished colorist. Ms. Whitelaw has also gained a devoted following for her work as a portrait artist, particularly in the South. Her work has been exhibited in Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, and Virginia and is part of numerous private and corporate collections, including Vanderbilt University's Medical Center, Dominion National Bank, and the Town of Dinan, France. She was one of only six artists invited to the "Call for Artists" by the American Academy of Women Artists. |
