Sylvia Trybek
Above: "Roses" Oil, 8" x 16" $1200
Sylvia Trybek's international background has played an essential role in the development of her skills and in the evolution of her style. Though she received her formal education in the U.S. (Masters of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Houston, Texas), Trybek grew up in Poland, has traveled extensively in Europe, Asia, and Australia, and has lived and worked in France, Germany, England, and Thailand.
She is an award-winning artist specializing in representational painting, including still life, landscape, figure, and portraiture. Working alla prima from life models and subjects is her preferred approach to painting. Strong composition, lively colors, and an emphasis on solid drawing form the foundation of Trybek's approach to her work, her teaching style, and her painting philosophy. As an artist and teacher, she believes in a strict adherence to the highest standards of quality, excellence, and integrity. A current resident of Texas, Trybek teaches portrait and still life painting at the Houston Civic Arts Association and frequently conducts workshops and demonstrations in addition to her own busy painting career.
