Highly accomplished and internationally known
Virginia artist, Maggie Siner, received her Bachelor of Fine Arts cum
laude from Boston University and her Master of Fine Arts with honors
from American University in Washington, D.C. She also studied at the
Art Students League of New York and studied Gross Anatomy at Georgetown
University Medical School. Viewing Maggie Siner's exquisite figurative paintings, one can see evidence of her study of gross anatomy in her confident brushwork and how she accurately and decisively depicts the human form and its musculature. Her style brings to mind the work of Paul Cezanne, although her style is very much her own. Working in oil on linen, her subject matter includes figure, landscape, and still life. Maggie Siner's experience as a teacher and lecturer is vast. Following is a partial list of places she has lectured and/or taught: American University, Washington Studio School, Xiamen University (Xiamen, China), Georgetown Univeristy Medical School, Centre Culturelle de Plan de Cuques (Marseille, France), Institut d'Universites Americaines (Aix-en-Provence, France), and Virginia Commonwealth University. Articles about her have also appeared in a number of publications, including, among others, The Washington Post, American Artist Magazine, Nice-Matin (France), and the Beijing Fine Arts Journal. Maggie's work may be found in hundreds of private collections in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, France, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, The Netherlands, Chile, South Africa, Kenya, The People's Republic of China, and Japan. |
