Carrie Ballard

Above: "Creekside" Oil, 9" x 12" $850

Carrie Ballard received her BA degree in art from Baylor University and her Masters degree in Art Education from the University of Houston. After thirty years' teaching art in the Texas public schools, oil painting has become her major endeavor and passion. Carrie is primarily a plein air painter but also enjoys still life and figurative work.  Extensive travel has sent Carrie on her quest to find the perfect painting location. She has traveled in the USA, Mexico, Canada, Japan and Europe. She always looks forward to traveling with the API group each year. Carrie is one of the founding members of API.

The thing I enjoy most about painting is painting on location. I love to stand in the grass, smell the air, feel the wind on my face and the sun on my back. This is when I feel most in touch with my creative spirit. This feeling is what I want to communicate to you, the viewer and I want you to enjoy with me the handiwork of nature. The beauty of the world never ceases to motivate and inspire me.
