Anne Blair Brown

"I am more a listener than a talker, and listening lends to observing. My daily observations inspire me to document on canvas moments that others might not have noticed. This is what fuels my journey as an artist. That, and I'm incredibly bad at math."

"As a former chef, my passion for cafes, restaurants and city life is reflected in my work. I am most attracted to the light cast on these subjects. I believe light can be peaceful and comforting as well as bright and energetic. I am just as inspired by a rainy day as a sunny one, or by a quiet interior or bustling street cafe."

Anne Blair Brown is a member of Oil Painters of America as well as the Chestnut Group, an organization of artists who promote the preservation of land through art.  Her works are included in numerous private and corporate collections, including the permanent collections of " Boult, Cummings, Conners & Berry" and "The Orcutt Group".
